A weeks Reserve

After a long five days of reserve, I did not get called. Its officially that slow time in the industry. My first time in eight months of being a flight attendant that I don't get used on a trip. Honestly, I'm happy I didn't get used. See the thing is I live in base and for most that's not the case. I rather have someone who is sitting at a crashpad get used versus myself who is home. I won't lie though sitting at home all week on call was driving me crazy. So I can imagine a person at a crashpad where it really isn't "home". I felt as if I was stuck. Now I know what you're thinking... no im not really stuck I can go and enjoy my day but the anxiety if being called while you're out and about is no fun.

On Friday I went into the city. Like I mentioned I was starting to go a bit nuts being inside for a week. Drove into Boston and walked around. Something so small made me feel great. Boston is such a beautiful city with so much to see. You'd be surprised of all the places I still haven't seen. I did a little shopping at primark. Walked to beacon hill and watched the sunset. It was a beautiful night. After the beautiful sunset I walked through the commons (park) and ended up at Faneuil hall where I had a quick bite to eat. The night was beautiful. The weather was perfect such a nice way to end summer.

Now that this week is over I dont have to stress about being on call for the rest of the month. I can now stress about Thursday which is my recurrent training...yes already! I'm a little nervous only because it's my first recurrent. If you dont know what recurrent is its basically an annual training to recertify our skills at being a flight attendant. I get to fly down to Orlando for two days and I'm excited because I'll get to see a few classmates from graduation that I have not seen in a while. I'll also see some old colleagues of mine who are going through training to become a flight attendant.

But until then I will enjoy the next couple days off and relax because I deserve it right. 🙃
